Yes, and it's not close. For me, though, running is a huge part of my life. It isn't just the running itself, though--it's how good I feel every day because I'm in good shape, it's the camaraderie and friendships I have with my fellow runners, and so much more. These are things I wouldn't get to experience if I gave in to the temptation to hit the snooze button every morning.
But, even if you eliminate all of the "extras" and just narrow it down to the sacrifices I make to train for an event, it's still worth it. I don't really remember the alarm clock going off at 4:30 every morning last summer, but I sure as heck remember what it felt like to cross that finish line in Central Park.
Love that quote! I do believe that's true.
