Early, but not early enough

I'm back on schedule this week. After a couple of 10 pm runs last week because of dw being out of town, I've found a new appreciation for taking the time to run in the mornings before work. So, I got up early to make my way over to Memorial Park. It wasn't quite early enough though. I'd like to get to work by around 7:15 and didn't make it in until 8:00. Guess tomorrow I'll try to get out there earlier.

I felt pretty good this morning. It was cool. Humidity was high. Just a little residual soreness from Sunday's 10-mile race, around the quads area. Here are the stats:

Total distance - 3 miles
Total time - 41:10
Mile 1 - 13:51
Mile 2 - 13:43
Mile 3 - 13:35
Average pace - 13:45

By the way, I'm now the proud owner of 2 pairs of running shoes. I got the extra pair so I could start rotating them. It really helped since the shoes I wore Sunday are still recovering from running through the rain. I hope this helps prolong the life of both pairs and keeps them cumfy cushiony for me.

God bless!!

Hey Dude...congrats on the extra pair of shoes. John advised me to do the rotation thing a long time ago and I believe it's really helped. Especially since my "F" shoes are going to need several days to dry out and re-cushion from being SOAKED from Sunday's race.

John also letters his shoes with the alphabet to keep track of them. I think he's been through the whole alphabet twice already and is about halfway through the third time!

Right now I'm alternating E and F for running...wearing D for everyday but retired from running, mowing the lawn and painting in A's! hahaha

Thanks for caring about me and calling me friend...made me feel good all day today! And yes, I did feel MUCH better today = )

Good job on getting into a rotation. You may want to do some research on inserts for your shoes. In fact, I think I will post on this.

I have been saying I was going to start rotating shoes for years...still need to do that!

Rotating shoes is a great thing. I have four pairs in my current rotation, and it's great. I sort of have a pair for each type of run.

Great job on your run, too!

Congratulations on the new addition to the trainer family! Be sure to let us know how it works out to rotate.

I definitely rotate shoes - it's a big help, isn't it! First of all, if you run in the rain it's almost a must. I also tend to keep inserts from shoes that have served me especially well and use them a little longer than the shoe itself.

Plus, let's face it. You just can't have too many pairs of shoes.
