Why I run

I came across this blog entry on Runner's world and it really hit home for me. Check it out if you like. It's quite inspirational.

Personally, I think its one of those "why ask why?" things. I run because it feels good, because I like the accomplishment and because I like being around other runners. We have a tendency to be very easy going and genuine people. What other sport will accept...well...anyone? I can go to a marathon and run an event with elite athletes, that'd be like a hometown softball player getting to pitch with the Yankees! Running isn't about being first, its about just being out there running. Who cares why. We've all got our reasons, right? And we certainly don't need to justify those reasons to non-runners. Whatever the reason, just keep running.
